How to Set the Date on a Timex Expedition Watch
Step 1: Locate the Crown
The crown is the small knob on the side of your Timex Expedition watch. It’s used to adjust the time and date. Depending on your model, it may have one or two pushers as well.
Step 2: Pull Out the Crown
To set the date, you need to pull the crown out to the correct position. Most Timex Expedition watches have a two-position crown:
- First Position: This is where you can wind the watch if it’s a mechanical model or adjust settings if it’s an electronic model.
- Second Position: This is where you set the time and date. Pull the crown out to this position to adjust the date.
Step 3: Rotate the Crown to Set the Date
Once the crown is in the second position, turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the date. The date will change as you rotate the crown. Be sure to move the crown slowly and avoid rapid adjustments to prevent damaging the internal mechanism.
Step 4: Push the Crown Back In
After you have set the date, push the crown back into its original position. Make sure it is securely in place to maintain the watch's water resistance.
Additional Tips:
- Check for AM/PM Indicator: If your Timex Expedition watch has an AM/PM indicator, ensure the time is set correctly to avoid confusion with the date change.
- Avoid Changing the Date During Certain Hours: On some watches, changing the date between 8 PM and 4 AM can cause damage due to the internal mechanism's position. Always adjust the date outside of this time frame.
- Refer to the Manual: If you’re unsure about the procedure, refer to the watch’s manual for specific instructions tailored to your model.
By following these steps, you can ensure your Timex Expedition watch displays the correct date and continues to function smoothly. If you encounter any issues, consulting a professional watch repair service might be necessary.
